Workload Support Assistant/Librarian

Overview

We are looking to recruit a Workload Support Assistant/Librarian with the following responsibilities:

  • To aid our teachers with a range of administrative tasks.
  • To promote our children’s work around the school
  • To oversee the smooth operation of the library.

The role will involve:

  • Designing and putting up displays.
  • Designing and preparing resources for class teachers, including the use of ICT.
  • Keeping the library organised.
  • Changing the book displays.
  • Helping the children and junior librarians checking in and out books.

The successful candidate will need to be able to start work by 8.00am so that there can be effective communication with our teaching team.

We would welcome applications from those who have experience of working in schools but also those who wish to pursue a new career in this area.

Personal attributes

We believe the key attributes for these roles are:

  • GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • Experience of working with Microsoft Office
  • The ability to work as a positive team member.
  • Patience, empathy and good communication skills.
  • Organisation and resourcefulness, the ability to work under pressure with good time management skills and a sense of humour.
  • Confidence in using ICT.
  • An ability to use art materials creatively.
  • An understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding.

Salary & Benefits

Grade 5   £16,642 - £17,780

28 hours a week. Term time only
